A running lab on your wrist.
Let’s take it one step beyond when it comes to running science. More performance insights in sight.
The ultimate figure to illustrate your aerobic fitness – once you know it, you can work on consistently improving it.
without going to a lab.
Normally, you would have to go to a laboratory, stick a mask on, and run on a treadmill until you’re exhausted just to get your VO2max value - not any more.
Running Performance Test
Go all out. See max HR. Get VO2max.
HR Training Zones
Forget about others. Follow your heart.
Efficiency is key – target HR zones allow you to monitor the level of effort required for different intensities based on your heart’s beats per minute (bpm).
This is the hardest working muscle in your body. It’s the engine that keeps everything running when you run.
Pacers win races.
Going the distance means adapting your pace depending on the different segments of a run based on the terrain you face, the effort required at any given moment, and the energy you’ll need to conserve if you want to get over the line – the right time, the right place, at the right pace.
Everything you need: from start to finish.
Pace, time, distance – plus a few other necessary functions to keep you running.
See your running speed.
See how long you’ve been running for.
See how far you’ve run.
Start/Stop any measure of running time.
Mark laps automatically or manually.
Timed periods of high and low intensity running.
Find your pace.
You’ve probably spent some time trying to figure out what your running pace would need to be to finish your next 5K, 10K, or marathon in a particular time. Pace Me is a simple running pace calculator app which will show you predicted distance completion times for whatever running pace you select.
Running Power Zones
Run at the right intensity.
Wrist-based running power monitors the effort required for every segment of your run instantly – so you can adjust your intensity and finish strongly.
All the tools you need to win.
A good runner makes it look easy, but a great runner knows it wasn’t. Races aren’t won by crossing a line, they’re won long before that.
Training Load Pro™
But don't overdo it.
Know if you’re training too much, too little or just right: improve your performance, prevent injury.
How far are you willing to go?
lt’s not about distance, it’s more than that. You want to face the world head-on and if you’re going to do that, you need to track your runs right – wherever you go.
You can run this town.
The new antenna design allows you to track every stride with improved accuracy wherever you run.

Running in your dreams.
Even after you’ve stopped, your mind is still running. Winding down and recovering with some quality rest is the best way to make sure you are ready for another day of running tomorrow.

More than a watch.
Set your goals, plan your workouts, and track your progress with all of the data from your body synced automatically.
Your individual VO2max can tell you how many millilitres of oxygen is being used by each kilogram of your body weight.
To put it simply, it tells you how fit you are and how efficient your heart is - helping you understand your future potential for aerobic endurance.
VO2max In Action
Since your muscles need oxygen to move, improving this value can make you healthier and boost your overall performance in sports.
A higher VO2max value can make workouts feel easier, lower your 5K (or Marathon) times significantly, and help you train longer without tiring. Basically, if you increase this value, you’ll become fitter, stronger, and perform better.
Walking Test is an uncomplicated test that you can perform regularly to estimate your aerobic fitness level based on your VO2max.
Walk at a brisk pace for 15 minutes along a flat route and the automatic calculation will factor in the distance you walk, your heart rate during the test, and your personal metrics: gender, age, height, and weight.
- Walk for 15 minutes. Get results.
- Check your aerobic fitness level easily.
- See your progress over the long-term.
Running Performance Test
Run at the right level.
The Running Performance Test helps you personalize your heart rate, speed and power zones, so that you’ll always hit the optimal running pace.
- Know where your running performance is
- Personalise your training zones
- Keep track of your progress
Polar Precision Prime™ sensor fusion technology tracks your heart rate from the wrist. The innovation combines optical heart rate measurement with other sensor technologies to rule out motion artifacts that might disturb the heart rate signal and produce unreliable readings.
- Deeper light penetration into the skin
- Light detectors pick up returning light
- Accurate heart rate measurement
After every run, you get a Running Index score based on the relationship between heart rate and speed. A single number to see your progress and compare to gender and age related aerobic fitness norms.
Because Running Index gives you an estimate of your maximal aerobic performance, it is a good predictor of your finish time for popular race distances, from 5k to marathon.
- See how efficient your running is.
- Monitor your progress with a single score.
- Predict how fast you can run a race
Plan your training sessions in advance with customised training targets and save them to your training diary. When it’s to break a sweat, your device will guide you throughout your scheduled session, so you can fully focus on your workout.
You can create interval workouts with heart rate, speed, or power targets, or set simple training goals, such as ‘burn 700 kcal cycling’ or ‘run 30 minutes.’ Your device will alert you when you need to slow down or speed up to make sure your training goes as planned.
- Create your own training targets
- Get guidance and alerts for each session
- Analyse your training in Polar Flow
Running Power Explained
Whereas heart rate measures your internal load as you run (cardio effort required), Running Power monitors your external work rate in watts as you run (mechanical output from your muscles).
This is an extremely useful tool for sprints and short intervals because it responds to intensity changes almost instantly.
Running Power In Action
Because Running Power responds quickly to intensity changes, has a high dynamic range, and takes into account changes in altitude, it’s perfect for interval training and running in hilly terrain.
By monitoring changes in your pace and altitude, you can use Running Power to maintain a steady level of effort during a steady-state workout in varying terrain, for example, running on a trail.
Choose one of four running events, 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, and get a personalised, adaptive training plan that fits you and your goals.
Your personal running program is based on your training history and your current fitness level – with programs ranging from 9 weeks up to 20 months in length, depending on your event and choices.
Each running program consists of three phases and includes five different types of runs, including interval training and long runs. Don’t sweat it, though. Your Polar device will guide you through each workout and give feedback for each session.
- Personalised, adaptive training plans
- Choose one of four running events
- Guided workouts and session feedback
Leg Recovery Test
The Leg Recovery Test tells you whether your legs are ready for speed and strength training in just a couple of minutes without any specialist equipment – all you need is your watch.

- See if your legs have recovered
- Easy to do. Get result in minutes
- No extra equipment required

Training Load Pro™
When you train, the different systems of your body become strained. Training Load Pro™ monitors this strain to provide you with detailed insights.
Training Load Pro™ gives you values for the load placed on both your cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system (Cardio Load and Muscle Load) after every session, and with Perceived Load you can rate how strained you feel - allowing you to see the immediate strain on your body, and monitor training induced strain over the long-term.
- Monitor how your training strains your body
- Understand your cardio & muscle loads
- Track loads by session, and over the long-term
