Mechanical Design Engineer, Test and Manufacturing Technologies+

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Test and Manufacturing Technologies team.  

Your main responsibility is to create concepts, designs and develop plans for equipment, tools, and fixtures used in production, development and research. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Creating efficient, reliable, and innovative mechanical systems.  

  • Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD tools.  

  • Researching and applying design and engineering methods for test and/or mechanical systems.  

  • Overseeing prototype development and manufacturing, conduct tests and refine designs based on results.  

  • Collaborating with project and NPI teams to define applications and requirements. 

  • Documenting design processes, iterations and test results.  

  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications and operational manuals.  

  • Staying updated on technology advancements, design trends and engineering best practices. 

Qualifications:  

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.  

  • Few years’ experiences in mechanical design and development of complex mechanical systems, demonstrating strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and CAD tools.  

  • Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX) and familiarity with industry standards and regulations. 

  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis and product lifecycle.  

  • Fluency in written and spoken English. 


The position is located at our headquarters in Kempele.

Test Engineer, Test and Manufacturing Technologies+

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Test and Manufacturing Technologies team in our global production organization. 

Your main responsibility is to create concepts, designs and develop plans for test systems used in production, development and research. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Developing, validating and maintaining test procedures, fixtures and programs for product testing. 

  • Verifying and validating test software, hardware and program revisions for compliance. 

  • Preparing and maintaining test documentation, reports and dashboards. 

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting for test systems and equipment. 

  • Analyzing test data using SPC and other tools to drive yield improvement. 

  • Improving production test yield and implementing corrective actions. 

Qualifications:   

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software, Automation, or a related field). 

  • At least 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or consumer electronics testing preferred. 

  • Proficiency in NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, Python, or C++ for test automation. 

  • Knowledge of measurement equipment and automated test platforms. 

  • General knowledge of database and related tools, like SQL 

  • Fluent spoken and written English language, especially technical English. 

  • Ability and willingness to travel

Specialist, Type Approvals+

We are looking for a Specialist to work with sports devices Type Approvals activities in our R&D Hardware department. 

You will be responsible for Polar products type approval actions and support related to TA activities. Your tasks include close follow-up and detailed analysis of electronics regulatory requirements and product compliance. You will work with several R&D designers and other specialists to comply with new product regulatory requirements. You will also collaborate with several Polar country managers and country authority representatives. 

Qualifications / Skills

  • Relevant educational degree (M.Sc or B.Sc).
  • 1-3 years of experience with consumer devices regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar with consumer electronics type approval activities.
  • Fluent understanding of electrical devices type approval process and authority requirements.
  • Executing new product type approvals with relevant type approval laboratories.
  • Negotiate contracts for type approvals with stakeholders.
  • Plan and run type approval projects.
  • Understand basics of modern product development processes.
  • Fluent use of Jira and Atlassian tools.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Good spoken and written skills in English. 

 Location can be any of the Polar locations in Finland (Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Kempele, Tampere).
