The latest update brings continuous heart rate tracking to the Polar M430 GPS running watch. From now on, all Polar M430 owners get to follow their heart rate around the clock and enjoy the benefits of more comprehensive activity tracking.

MORE COMPREHENSIVE ACTIVITY TRACKING
Continuous heart rate measurement was designed to complement Polar’s 24/7 activity tracking. The combination of 3D accelerometer based activity tracking and continuous heart rate measurement gives you a more comprehensive and accurate estimation of your activity level and calorie consumption.
Continuous heart rate measurement also helps you understand how your heart rate changes throughout the day. The 24-hour view in Polar Flow shows you how your heart rate reacts to different circumstances, such as physical activity or stressful situations. You also get to see your lowest and hightest heart rate measurements of the day and the lowest heart rate of the night.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH CONTINUOUS HEART RATE AND POLAR M430
To get started, you need to make sure the firmware on your Polar M430 is up to date. If you are using the Polar Flow mobile app to sync your data, the app will let you know when the update is available. If you prefer to sync your data via your computer, plug your Polar M430 to your computer and the FlowSync software will guide you through the update.
Continuous heart rate tracking is turned off by default. To turn it on, go to the settings menu on your Polar M430 and choose General settings. Continuous heart rate tracking will appear on the top of the list. Change the setting from ‘off’ to ‘on’.
HOW WILL THIS AFFECT BATTERY LIFE?
There are many things that factor into the battery life of Polar M430, such as the amount of GPS and heart rate training, smart notifications and even weather conditions. Continuous heart rate is likely to slightly shorten the battery life of your Polar M430, but we prefer not to make a general estimate as it depends on so many variables.
WILL CONTINUOUS HEART RATE BE COMING TO OTHER DEVICES?
