Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my needs In 1999 I had a heart attack. Upon recovery I purchased a treadmill which had the option of using the T31 strap unit. Been using them ever since without any problems

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too bad I have a treadmill by Precor that came with a Polar Heart Monitor belt. The model that came with it, had a snap on "brain" for it that took a battery. Unfortunately the slot where a coin goes to open the battery compartment became stripped so I could no longer gain access to the battery. I went online to Polar's site and discovered that the replacement belt now has the battery built into the belt so that when it dies, one must dispose of the belt entirely and buy a new one. I strongly dislike that. The new belt also seems to lose connection to the treadmill while I am walking. This is Yes very disappointing. Unfortunately, I know of no other company manufacturing another comparable belt/heart monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic and easy to use My chest transmitter went out, and I decided to try a Fitbit. I found that it was not nearly as easy to use - does more stuff, of course, but the equipment I use at the facility I go to could not pick up my heart rate from the Fitbit. So I bought another chest strap transmitter and am a happy camper again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So reliable! Love this transmitter. Have purchased 2 of the user replaceable battery model transmitters and both a) did not last as long as this model and b) stopped working right after I changed the user replaceable battery. Will definitely stick with this model from now on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not great HR strap I've been using the t31 coded transmitter for bicycle racing for years with my SRM power meter. First off, the battery does seem to last a long time so having to replace the entire unit often isn't going to happen. I've gotten a good two or three years out of my last one while using it 12 to 15 hours per week (> 600 hours per year). The only problem I have is that the HR values at the beginning of some rides and occasionally here or there in the middle of the rides will show spikes. Since I use software to analyze my rides, I have to go into the data files and manually clean up the bad HR values and this is somewhat of a PITA. I have other HR straps for my other devices that don't do this (Garmin Edge 500 strap, and Suunto SRM V7 strap) so I know it is an issue with this transmitter (and the last two of these I've owned have done the same thing). So, other than the HR spikes here and there, this transmitter is a good but not great product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete Joke of a product The product works fine, but you can't replace the battery. You have to buy a new strap from Polar for $45! As someone who is concerned about the environment, I think this is a bad thing, which will make me rethink buying another Polar product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm with my polar watch. This is the only brand I use and will continue to use.
