Pairing sensors with RCX5

Before using a Polar sensor for the first time, you need to pair it with the RCX5. This takes only a few seconds. Pairing ensures that your heart rate monitor reads information only from your own sensor.

Pair heart rate sensor with RCX5

Polar RCX5 training computer is compatible with Polar H2, Polar H3, Polar H7's GymLink transmission Polar H7 heart rate sensor is a combo heart rate sensor. It's compatible with Bluetooth® smart ready devices that support heart rate service. A separate application is required to view heart rate data on the receiving device (for example, a smartphone). The sensor is also compatible with Polar heart rate monitors which use Polar GymLink technology. , Polar H1, Polar WearLink®, Polar WearLink® Hybrid and Polar WearLink® transmitter W.I.N.D. heart rate sensors.

You can only have one heart rate sensor paired with your RCX5 at a time. Pairing a new sensor overrides the previous paring.
No pairing is required if you use Polar H7, Polar H1 or WearLink®heart rate sensors. These sensors use the Polar proprietary GymLink signal. Your heart rate monitor will find the signal automatically.

If you enter an event or race, make sure that your sensors are paired already at home. Pairing at an event, with other Polar sensors present, might be more difficult if your monitor locks onto someone else’s Polar sensor.

To pair the heart rate sensor
Wear the training computer and the heart rate sensor, and make sure you are far (40 m/ 131 ft) from other compatible heart rate sensors.

If the search is not successful, Heart rate transmitter not found or Other heart rate transmitters interfering. Move further. , Try again? YES / NO is displayed. Select YES to start the search again or NO to cancel the search.

To return to time mode, press and hold Back button.

Pair GPS Sensor with RCX5

RCX5 is compatible with Polar G3 and G5 GPS sensors.

If you enter an event or race, make sure that your sensors are paired already at home. Pairing at an event, with other Polar sensors present, might be more difficult if your monitor locks onto someone else’s Polar sensor. For pairing, keep 40 m/131 ft distance to other similar sensors. The sensor should be within 1,5 meters/5 ft of the training computer.

Make sure the GPS sensor is facing up. Also, make sure that you’re wearing the GPS sensor on the same arm as your training computer.
