How to teach new cycling sensors to Polar RS800CX Training Computer?

Your RS800CX Training Computer can be “taught” to work together with the several sensors to measure heart rate, speed/pace, distance and location data. A new Polar CS speed sensor™ W.I.N.D or Polar CS cadence sensor™ W.I.N.D. – purchased as an accessory – has to be introduced to your Training Computer. This teaching procedure takes only a few seconds. It ensures that your Training Computer receives the signals only from your transmitter. It enables disturbance-free exercise in a group.

Before entering an event or race, make sure that you do the teaching at home. This is to prevent interference due to the long-range data transmission.

You can have three bikes (Bike 1/2/3) on the Training Computer. Each bike has to have the sensors separately taught. You can only teach one speed and one cadence sensor to one bike. If you have three bikes, all of them can use the same speed and cadence sensors. Or, they can each have their own set of sensors.
When you teach a new sensor to a bike that already has a previously-taught sensor in the memory, the new sensor replaces the previous one.

To teach a new cycling CS speed sensor W.I.N.D.
Make sure you are not near (40 m/131 ft) to other similar speed sensors.

1. Select Settings → Features → Shoes/bikes → Bike 1/2/3 → On Speed → On
Teach new sensor? is displayed.
2. Confirm of cancel teaching:
a. Select YES to confirm teaching.
Start test driveis displayed. Rotate the wheel a few times to activate the sensor. The flashing red light in the sensor indicates that the sensor is activated. Completed! is displayed once the teaching process is finished successfully. The Training Computer is now ready to receive speed and distance data.
b. Select NO to cancel teaching. The earlier-taught speed sensor is taken into use.
If you choose NO and have not taught a speed sensor to the Training Computer earlier, speed information will not be shown during the exercise.
3. To return to time mode, press and hold the STOP button.

To Teach a new CS cadence sensor W.I.N.D.
Make sure you are not near (40 m/131 ft) other similar cadence sensors.

1. Select Settings → Features → Shoes/bikes → Bike 1/2/3 → On Cadence → On
Teach new sensor? is displayed.
2. Confirm of cancel teaching:
a. Select YES to confirm teaching.
Start test drive is displayed. Rotate the crank a few times to activate the sensor. The flashing red light in the sensor indicates that the sensor is activated. Completed! is displayed once the teaching process is finished successfully. The Training Computer is now ready to receive cadence data.
b. Select NO to cancel teaching. The earlier-taught speed sensor is taken into use.
If you choose NO and have not taught a cadence sensor to the Training Computer earlier, cadence information will not be shown during the exercise.
3. To return to time mode, press and hold the STOP button.

Once the Training Computer is taught to recognize a sensor, the recognizing is done even if you have had the sensor turned off on the Training Computer (e.g. Settings Features Shoes/bikes Bike 1/2/3 Speed Off). When the sensor is turned back on the next time (e.g. Settings Features Shoes/bikes Bike 1/2/3 Speed On), Teach new sensor? is displayed. Since the sensor is already taught, select NO and the monitor goes back to Bike 1/2/3 menu.
