How to Use Polar RS800CX Training Computer for Triathlon

If you wish to use different W.I.N.D. sensors during the same triathlon you will need to stop the exercise recording after each triathlon phase to switch from one sensor to another, and start recording again.

RS800CX training computer is compatible with these sensors:

  • s3 stride sensor W.I.N.D.

  • s3+ stride sensor

  • G3 GPS sensor W.I.N.D.

  • G5 GPS sensor

  • CS speed sensor W.I.N.D

  • CS cadence sensor W.I.N.D

Example
Before training or competing, 1) create a sport profile in ProTrainer 5 for each phase (swimming, cycling, running), and 2) check that you have only one sensor enabled for cycling and only one sensor for running.

1. Swimming stage: - Start recording. RS800CX records exercise time. It cannot measure distance, speed or heart rate during swimming
- After swimming phase is done, stop recording.

2. Cycling stage:
- Before starting the recording, toggle the sensor you wish to use OR (if you have created a sport profile for this phase) select the exercise type you wish to use for the cycling phase. Start recording. Combine exercises? is displayed. Answer Yes to create a multisport exercise.
- After cycling phase is done, stop recording.
3. Running stage:
- Before starting the recording, toggle the sensor you wish to use OR (if you have created a sport profile for this phase) select the exercise type you wish to use for the running phase. Start recording. Combine exercises? is displayed. Answer Yes to create a multisport exercise.
- After running phase is done, stop recording.

If you do not wish to use Sport Profile, check that you have only one sensor enabled for cycling and only one sensor for running. This is to allow quick switching between sensors by pressing and holding the lower right button when in exercise wait mode.
